The cabins are rusticly luxurious. With wood floors and open windows leading through the kitchen and livingroom to the patio, the rocking bench makes for the perfect place to relax and watch the sunset over the fields. (We recommending bringing some beer or wine.) The rooms are comfortable and have a large restroom with a double-headed shower and a separate steeping tub. Everything was extraordinarily clean.
The staff was helpful and friendly, catering to our special requests. After all, when there are six of you in one cabin you will end up needing a few more bath towels, along with other things.
Do be aware that the roads leading to the cabin are not paved. Expect dirt and a few bumps. Also, some cabins have views directly to the fields, while others have views of the cabins and fields. This would be expected at any hotel with multiple cabins a single location. The cabins are located on a hill, which provides all the cabins with some view. Also, due to the low amount of light, the night sky is a special treat. Hope for a clear night and make time to watch the stars.
The restaurant on location is delicious. We recommend their buffalo burger or buffalo ruben sandwich on homemade bread. Vicki will be the first to tell you that the french fries were the best she has ever tasted! The western atmosphere is classic, with exposed light bulbs, large open windows, and heavy wood dinning tables. The restaurant is expensive ($18 for a burger), but most places in Springdale are over priced too, and at least here the quality is high and the ingredients are garden fresh.
The hotel does offer horseback riding. Talk to the front desk if this is something that interests you.
The Zion Mountain Ranch is located north of the Zion National Park Visitors Center. If you are coming from the west, you must drive through the park to get to the hotel. This makes for easy access to Zion in the following days, and puts you in between Zion National Park and Bryce National Park. You are only 20-30 minutes away from the Zion Visitor’s Center (depending on traffic), while you are approximately 60-90 minutes away from Bryce National Park.
